I am going on another muskoka island getaway this weekend- one last chance for summer weather to cooperate and be nice. Dallas will get to leap off docks in pursuit of half-chewed sticks, swim until she can't move, and to scrabble over rocks 'til her paws are swollen and raw. Sheer doggy bliss... I plan to kick back, read, play cards, canoe and kayak, make like a 4 year old on the trampoline, and get a little sun. I will try to return without the icky skin infection for a change.
Since it appears totally beyond the pale of human endeavour for me to actually get to MEC in Toronto to buy the race shoes I want, despite weeks of trying, I have just caved in and ordered them online. Gee, I hope they fit when they get here... Predictably, they are now on back-order, not promised to ship for 4-5 weeks. I'm faced with possibly not getting them until after my race. *sigh*
Project-Land is just absolute madness. We're changing all kinds of fundamental things really late in the game- a new WebLogic Service Pack, 2 JRE updates (one server, one client), and now- a change request in supported PACS platform for our most risky feature- data synchronicity. My gut recoils from all the risk in these decisions. It is so the perfect time to get away. Maybe it will all be better when I come back . . . (more ellipses might make this statement more believable) . . .
nope.
oh well, it's the weekend now anyway. *waves bye bye*
