Some days just drop in on us
Some days are better than others

So the big 2-day race is off. Of the roster of 4, all have dropped out of the race, citing anxiety around the zip line, anxiety around the overall difficulty, anxiety over a really over-packed schedule, and lately, a broken/sprained ankle on the eve of registering. ahhhhh. What can you do... I'm 1 for 2, and I'm learning that the hard part is getting to the race.

I have a back-up plan, but it's a bit of a long-shot. There's one more ARC race this season- the one-day format again on October 16th in the Kawarthas. http://www.adventureracingcanada.com/index04.htm If you want to do a one day race, (and you can give up the Toronto bike show), then shoot me an email! And I won't accept the excuse that there's no time to prepare, because it's almost a full month away. No it won't be that cold. You need to be able to canoe, mountain bike, and hike. If you happen to also be able to use a compass, that's a plus.

Tonight is mountain biking, and I get to leave work early since I came in so early. Dallas will get to come, and she'll be so grateful for the chance to run herself ragged again. I'm thinking maybe Belwood, just for a change-up. No other plans. The fall days are stretching out before me pretty unstructured and free... what to do, what to do... There's a big piece of me very heartsick to go climbing again... Might just be worth a try one of these days. All my climbing gear is sitting out right now, just looking so sad and unused lately. Somebody, please- kick my ass onto the rocks.
