So here it is, Friday end of day, and I'm just trying to generally release this little tiny project before the 5 o'clock bell sounds. I've figured out the unnecessarily burdensome process attached to this effort(see 13 attached documents), jumped over dully scorched bureaucratic hoops, stumbled over the long "control document" list of to-dos, cajoled, pestered, sent friendly reminders, endured 20 minute long, (whiney) "but whyyyyy....." conversations from reps in the field, desperate for the fix while I noted that sorry- there are still 432 steps remaining until you're allowed to release the software...
Now the damn software's done. It's tested, 3 bulletins have been written, and 42 people have signed off in all the formal and redundant ways the wonders of technology can devise. There's ONE GUY left who has to do something for us, and it's 4:22 on a Friday afternoon. Quel suprise, he is not answering phone and email. Ahh wait- ya don't suppose there's a better chance of this getting done today if I should perchance go over there, make a case based on need GREAT NEED, and ask him really nicely? Especially if I remember to start with, "I know you're really busy doing incredible humanitarian works, but...". Do you?
Ooooh, the drama only a crustacean-paced major multi-national can devise for your youth. I grow old, I grow old .. I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled ..
blech.
Must ... get ... o u t. ... ... *expires*
