the pain in my brain

Call me sicko...

I've been sick since Friday, but am finally recovering. Did you know that bananas may cause of excessively copious amounts of mucous? I have eliminated them (temporarily) from my morning smoothies in the hopes this is true.

So what do you do with several days of headaches, chills and a head full of nothing good? I don't even know where the time went. I slept a lot; taking huge daytime naps. I didn't read very much, blog very much, or leave the apartment except for Dallas.

The big diversion here was a randomly downloaded video-game called Zuma Deluxe. This has held what attention I could maintain, in between blowing my nose 100 times/hour.

I am only a few screens away from SUN GOD.

The game casts you as a rotating frog in screen centre. From your mouth spit brightly coloured bowling balls, and you need to smash them into other (moving) balls in a circuit around you as they jostle back and forth in response to you smashing 3 of them together at once. There are slow-down balls, reverse-balls, and blow-up balls. Altogether a lot of balls for this household.

When I close my eyes, I see them, and at night I can hear the thrumming arcade music still going. It drops down to a lower minor key when the balls are getting too close to the end (a threatening dark hole with teeth that they drop into, ending the round). Hmmm.

Somewhere, there are freudian warning bells going off deep in the recesses of my mind. I ignore them easily, and play the Jaguar level again.
