whey out man

eating my curds and whey...

You would think I'd know that whey is not a grain, but I didn't until the other day. I ran out of vegetarian protein for my morning smoothies, so down to a health-food store I went. I asked what other vegetarian protein options I had, and was told, Soy and Whey were the options. I had been reading about how good whey is, so I opted for that. He did ask if I had any problems with eggs or cheese, and I said yes to both. He then led me to the big jug 'o whey, and said no one with allergies ever has problems with this brand. You'd really think I'd read the ingredients label, but I was tired and not thinking.

So it's dairy, which I'm allergic to. Now we all know. I feel so lethargic. This morning, I had to push down the gag reflex as I drank my smoothie. If the whey is really the problem, my skin should go haywire next. Stay tuned, because now that I spent the money, I feel compelled to prove it out.

The other interesting thing about whey vs. soy is the fitness magazine advertising on it. The great thing about whey seems to be that it blocks out estrogen. Everything in bodybuilding seems to be about adding testosterone and blocking estrogen. Hmmm... I wonder how she did it.
