I went for a work-out last night. It took triple the time to get downtown to the gym. There is snow in Vancouver. Approximately 2cm fell. None of it adhered to the paved surface. Drivers everywhere were in a panic, exercising prodigious amounts of caution. The left turn lanes are backed up whole city blocks, due to nervous nellies behind the wheel. Actually, it was hilarious for the first 5 minutes. Then it was really irritating.
On a more positive note- I had a great workout. It must be the illicit protein-high I've been on. Before the fall comes, I maxed out my upper body beyond all reason. I was so delighted at all the new exercises I've been learning about, and I am convinced I can do the Romanian dead-lift without straining my lower back.
After my workout, I decided to add in a boxing workout, complete with skipping (you may remember earlier skipping embarrassments). I have advanced from tripping every revolution of the rope to actually being able to hop about 20 times before tripping myself up. I have been reading about skipping strategies, and decided to alternate feet. I discovered to my utter amazement that my right leg has been compensating hugely for my left this whole time. I could almost not jump with my left leg only. Hmm...
It continued to snow all night long! This morning there is snow on the ground here, which I'm sure some will not believe, so photo follows. You will note there is still none on the pavement. I can only imagine the morning road-reports.
