my pal foot foot

The plants were watered when I noticed that the fern was upside down. I don't know how long it had been that way, or when I last watered, but they're all upright and watered now.

When you move to BC, you have 1 month to get your car's plates changed. In the beginning, I felt anxiety about this. Now, 7 months later I feel panic. If I don't get my insurance settled today, AND find a place to give me a BC Driver's license, I will not be driving anymore- happy birthday, time's up! Oops. I think I have a moderate to slim chance of getting this accomplished today amidst all my work.

You also have to get a safety done. Apparently my rear brake pads needed replaced. The rotors are fine, the calipers just need a little machining. Brake pads are $30 each, and I needed two. The bill came to $700. Or was it $800? I think I may be blanking some of this out. The estimate increased during the day. The rotors could not be saved, apparently- (my car is 2 years old...), and the calipers needed more work than they thought. At $99/hour for labour, that can really add up I guess.

I had a series of calls from Can Tire during the day, giving me an interesting variety of information on this topic. Pointless to ask, "but you said the rotors were fine, it was the calipers that needed machining- how did you machine the rotors down to nothing??" So I left feeling good and abused, with a $700 piece of paper that says my car is road-worthy. Umm, yeah. thanks. The invoice informed me my brake pads were 99% worn. As I tried the brakes on the way down the exit-ramp, they felt a little slippy.

Now I have the 12-step process to get my insurance sorted, new plates, new BC drivers license etc... *sigh*

lemme hear some of that fat boy...
