ragged your ass

Robin returned from Yellowknife, and my water bottle is now adorned with a RAGGED ASS RD. bumper sticker- the best possible place to put a bumper sticker to a place you haven't been. I saw the pictures though, and got the itch to go travelling. We may, just in time, be heading back to the Muskokas this weekend, which means we'll be able to canoe to our heart's content. I have taken so many long weekends this spring and summer, but so far, not a full week's worth all at once. What to do, what to do... One way or the other- canoeing and biking this weekend!

I'm sitting here, crunching on a granola bar. Crunch, crunch, crunch, think, think, think. Got some email about someone's feelings for me, which I responded to as clearly and sensitively as I could, but only to feel rebuffed by a mighty (over)-reaction. *sigh...* Crunch crunch... It could be worse. I could be conflicted, like someone I know, and be suffering. But I'm not. Sorry to feel good at your expense, you-know-who. But I do. : )

I biked in to work this morning. A little 40k ride to start the day right. My back hurts, despite stretching and pre-ride Advil, although I will pretend it does not, since Linda predicted a whole weekend of back pain and moaning. Not me though! My stats:

time to beat- 2:09:07 hrs
low heartrate: 89 (eek- heart rate walking)
max heartrate: 184 (eek - almost my maximum)
avg heartrate: 154
low altitude: 212 m
high altitude: 252 m
desc total: 178 m (@ a rate of 7m/min)
asc total: 210 m (@ a rate of 5m/min)

Also, there has been much talk about team eXtreme PouTine's next adventure race! The next one by ARC is in the Muskokas, and is another 5-8 hour Enduro race. But I'm getting a little cocky, and taken steps to nudge my team toward the Sea2Summit race instead.

I can't explain what I'm thinking here... the mountain part of the Collingwood race almost killed me, and I think it's fair to expect the October race at Mont. Ste. Marie will be .. uh.. more intense. Not to mention that it's 2 days... Still, adventure calls!

Day 1:

60-65km mountain biking
15-20km paddling
Zip line (traverse)
6-8km trek

Day 2:

25km mountain biking
portage/paddling through approx. 8 lakes
10-15km trek

Now doesn't that sound fun??
