team eXtreme PouTine

Speaking of wow- I heard Serena Ryder on the CBC on the way to work this morning, and she is incredible. I've grabbed some stuff off Kazaa this morning, and am considering hitting one of her two concerts at the Rivoli tonight, tomorrow... this is really just talk at this point, of course. I'm completely ill prepared for the race Saturday.

I have a list a mile long of stuff I haven't picked up yet. But the list that worries me is the one I haven't really thought about yet. I dreamed last night that I got to the campsite, and had a tent, but no sleeping bag. (don't laugh, it's actually happened to me...). No sleeping bag, no jammies, and no change of clothes for the race the next day.

So, I'm torn between bike-ride or swim at lunch... I'm sure my co-racers would vote for biking, but the skies are so cloudy... besides, that rear tire that needs replaced (now what did I do with that list...), might not get me far.

At least we're finally registered for Saturday's adventure race. We had to pay a $50 late fee, because race registration was left up to me...  What the hell, though.  Registering is our first small step to glory!! We are team eXtreme PouTine, and you can guess who was left in charge of that decision...  Anyway, I think our name is going to be very intimidating to our competition.  Cower they must!

I did not go to Hillside last weekend for various and surprising reasons.  I struggle with that, and all that came before.  Thoreau offers these words:

Make the most of your regrets; never smother your sorrow, but tend and cherish it till it come to have a separate and integral interest. To regret deeply is to live afresh.

  Here's to afresh.
