whew!
Spent 5 wonderful, mostly really relaxing days up at a Muskoka island-cottage. I can't imagine having access growing up to a summer vacationing spot like that, but I can certainly appreciate being able to visit it now! There were lots of toys- a canoe, two kayaks, a paddle-boat, an inflateable boat, two motor-boats, and (brand-new!) a SeaDoo Splash Island, which is bascially an expensive inflatable with a trampoline stretched across it. It is for children to bounce on, or adults to drink on. After the adults drink on it for 4 days, and all the alcohol has finally run out, you can put your goggles and scour the lake bottom to find that cooler you foolishly dropped days earlier.
The purchase price for such a vacation is all the work you have to catch up on... I'm playing catch-up on my two projects, plus I've taken on a few for someone else. So busy, busy this week too.
In the Theatre of the Gross and Disgusting... I really need to see a dermatologist. Every time I spend any time in the sun, I am getting a rash on my face... add to that a HUGE deer-fly bite next to my ear, a smaller one under my jaw, and a band of ruptured blood vessels across my eyes and nose (from spending too much time with loose-fitting goggles crammed to my face while underwater, searching for a cooler...). I've been keeping my sunglasses on as much as possible, and calling meetings where a dark room and projector is called for.
And somehow, a striking similarity with my recent bike-crash-- I have the feeling I may deserve this...
