I've just spent the two most lovely days in Winnipeg with Lena and Heather, visiting, seeing the famous Golden Boy atop the provincial legislature, (go ahead ask me anything- we took the tour) and canoeing down the Assinaboine. It was a super chance to catch up, and I hope to return again on the return trip home.
Quetico was so amazing, I had to spend a little extra time there, despite the very cold nights. I kayaked so far and long I wondered if I'd have shoulder dislocation issues, but I'm still in one piece. I saw a moose-cow and her calf chewing the bull rushes by the shore, a still unidentified bird that looked like some kind of turkey, and spent nights watching the Northern Lights- something I haven't seen in years.
I'm having the most lovely time.
Tonight I hope to make Moose Jaw, and to see the underground tunnels once used for liquor and immigrant smuggling.
Happy Trails to you...
