Let me start by acknowledging a LIE. I falsified the last post date to agree with when I wrote it.
I can't explain why two weeks have passed between writing it and posting it, since we have (tenuous and slow) WiFi here- except to say that the pace of living with the blue-hairs has led me to it. : )
In an unsettling settling, we have grafted on to the retirement amble so popular here. It doesn't help that Dallas moves at a glacial pace without waves to inspire her. It's like we're moving in viscous liquid, and aside from more trips between London and Toronto, we're still not busting any moves. Instead, we poke our head into the social centre (a small barn) to join a community potluck or watch the square dancers, or stroll around the pond and watch the frogs and minnows.
In other notes about the economy of living this lifestyle- we've recently toured through some of the mobile homes here. Did you know? You can own a super-cute place here for between $35 and $65K. Our sample size is only two thus far, I admit, but they do seem to span the range. I have to ask why one would need anything more than this. Two women and a dog have spent the last four months in a trailer approximately 240sq' large, and have felt happily, cozily ensconced. But combine that with a little home in a well-managed community, and any storage or space issues totally vanish.
