It's always better on holiday

So it's true- I'm finally wrapping up my West Coast tour, and heading home. I have mixed emotions, but ultimately my much-needed time off has accomplished its purpose, and I'm ready to see family, friends & loved ones (including dogs) again. I've never been this long away from Dallas, and I'm at the breaking point. Need that blonde fur on all my clothes, those puppy eyes staring at me with wonder- "how can wonder whether you fed me or not?? Feed me!!"

I had debated my return route, but with help from my home-bound logistics team, I learned that it only adds oh- 5 hours to avoid the state-side trip home, so I'm heading back the Northern Ontario route.

When you travel alone, one nice part is that you get to make all the accomodations choices. I spent last night in a Walmart parking lot, which has the virtue of getting you up early when that trans-Canada traffic starts moving again. It also has the virtue of being absolutely free! Of course shower facilities are limited...

homeward bound and happy
