Pilate-On!

Right- so despite the infrequent updates, people are still tuning in I hear... This makes me feel some duty to write, and also mildly pleased that my random and desultory thoughts could interest anyone- even mildly. Deep down, don't we all feel we'd make interesting case studies if only others recognized our uniqueness and endless depth?

I had started a blog-entry a few days ago with the title, What is it about Apathy? But never followed through with a post. Sorry 'bout that, but I was thinking about you...

Lately my life has been filled with little pieces of marginalia. Nothing so interesting to swell a progress, start a scene or two... Just the empty happenstance of empty days.

Dog walk. Library. Lunch with friends. Some weekends spent snow-shoeing, first on the Luther Marsh (just East of Arthur) and then Guelph Lake. This weekend, Andrew and I will journey to Ottawa to see my zany friends Margaret and John. But it is John who has rented the yhurt. We are scrounging up winter sleeping bags, bottles of interesting substances, and skiing out into the great Gatineau Park, freshly equipped with headlamps and apparently good weather. There should be some stories out of that one. Just the initial planning stages have us half-convinced to start up an indoor climbing gym in Waterloo...

With all the warm weather, I'm longing for the bike again. The bike that didn't get as much loving as it deserved last year. The bike with the bum rear brake line that's going to cost a hefty chunk to fix.
In the meantime, there's a suggestion of actually visiting a climbing gym again. Optimistically, I'll take this on next week with Steve and Andrew and perhaps Robin will make an appearance? We'll see if my back and neck hold out any longer than last time.

Tonight's drama will begin with a *yech* 5pm dentist appointment in Elora - (HATING how as an adult I have to drag myself to these appointments... the dentist really has my number though, and has me booked for follow-ups before I even walk in. "welcome, how's September 3rd for your next appointment?") I hear DIE BITCH DIE is an inappropriate response.

On a brighter note- my French is actually improving. I'm getting to the point of being able to carry on a half-assed conversation, which in a nod to poetic justice, makes Linda cringe much more often than when I was just mispronouncing single words.
