Attention Deficit

New on iPhone this week: Tilt-Shift Generator (app that applies tilt-shift photographic effects to your pics -see http://twitpic.com/rgg77 uploaded from my iPhone!), and Brick3D, which I found this morning, and played to 254,000 points on my very first game. It’s like an old game my brother used to have on his Amiga when we were kids, and apparently, my addiction to it lives on....

Last week we spent 14 hours shooting a bunch of retail merchandizing videos for a chain of Golf stores. We managed a dozen videos with 2 cameras, 3 different hosts, and for the client representative to stay smiling from a 6am start to an 8pm finish. We are feeling accomplished. Now we’re engaged in many many hours of logging videos in preparation for our editing. This blog post represents my need to stop logging and do something else for a few minutes!

Ava & Dianne left the park, as did Renee, and with Jim and Dianne gone too, we are feeling very alone here! We missed Survivor the other night, and though we could download it, it’s not the same as watching it with friends. *le sigh* We still have no plans for where we’re going in a month. We worry about moving Dallas... and where she could go, be comfortable, and where I could sleep within 10 feet of her while she sleeps.

Dallas has a new poofy dog-mat to lie on. After putting rubber-backed runners through the whole trailer, she’s much less prone to slipping and falling, but yet another tribulation came to light a week ago: Dallas has bed-sores!! We were at the vets when I looked down and noticed bright, fresh blood on on of her ankles. I thought she must have cut herself on something, but when it was examined, it was found to be a pressure sore, which finally ruptured. She had another huge one on her elbow. We had no idea, but were quick to act on the bed recommendation. Naturally, Dallas obstinately avoided going within 6 feet of the mat, and had to be wrestled and subdued onto it for the first week. She has grudgingly accepted that it’s here to stay, and has ventured onto it willingly exactly twice now.

That’s all the news for today- must get back to the editing! If you want more, I point you toward my tweets at stage-right. My social media trajectory is on an alarming downward spiral... first long-form blogging on a regular basis, then semi-regularly, then Facebook saw most of my updates, and now those forums seem too costly in terms of time, and I can only manage 2 sentence communications, or even “retweeting” someone else’s thoughts! What is this world coming to, my dear departed granny would have asked. I just don’t know.
