Oh yes, a big-time nerdgasm for me!
I finally got my MacBook Pro, after announcing that I was heading out to get some DVDs.... I returned home some $3300 poorer, but with a ridiculous smile on my face that probably took under 3 minutes to become unbearable.
Switching to Mac was a breeze- After all the talk of a high learning curve, I expected days of vexation, but it took all of 10 whole minutes to have most of the conventions figured out. I'm now part of the cult of Mac. One huge difference between this and my work laptop (an IBM): when I do something, the whole machine doesn't wheeze and sputter. It runs silently, without the dramatic punctuations of "MARTHA!! This is the BIG ONE! I'm coming to join you at last!!" while clutching its chest. Owning a Mac is calming.
