I would feel worse about not blogging much lately if anyone actually read this blog. Since facebook came into my life, I've spent my energies there with my caffeine ramp-up time.
We did venture to Galiano island the other weekend, and pics are posted to facebook, because the blogger picture uploader is such a pain, and because facebook's is so super easy. How Google hasn't yet invested in proper upload functionality for this app, I can't say. We camped at Montague Marine Harbour in the provincial park, which was beautiful. We had a day of nice weather, which we squandered with hikes, driving around the island, and general pure relaxation.
We saved the kayaking 'til too late, and had rain, cold, and wind no Sunday all day. We did a little more hiking, we visited bookstores and galleries, and found a great pottery place where we dropped a lot of bones on this gorgeous tea-pot, cups and carafe. Who am I again? We ventured to the island cemetary, where from one of the cliff's edges we watched about 20 seals swimming in the currents, feeding and circling about in great loops. The rest we spent playing cards and relaxing in a pub, or sitting in front of a white-hot bonfire in the rain. Yes, we had fortifications, and we drank them while reading to each other from under our umbrella.
The holiday Monday was mainly spent trying to get off Galiano with no ferry reservations. The day was beautiful around us, and we spent half of it sitting in ferry lines. :)
This weekend, we'll head to Nairn Falls, which has some excellent mountain-views, hikes, and obviously waterfalls. Dallas will join in the fun- but no kayaks- and no ferries.
And next week, I am back in Ontario for a couple of days.
