far from the maddening cloud

Daily life has got in the way of regular updates lately, but anyway, not that much out of the ordinary has happened. For May 24, we went to Sasquatch park and did the hike/canoe throw-endless-sticks-for-the-dog thing, and it was nice. We are somewhat fascinated by the local flora and fauna. In addition to bizarrely huge slugs, we have also been privy to finally meeting some insects. After biking and hiking here for three months, we finally encountered a few mosquitos. No bugs for 3 months. I almost forgot about them. This bugless wonderland does not engender greater love for the inhabitants with their freakish calf muscles.

We moved a couple weekends ago- getting away from our sniveling, incessantly whining landlord, who I would tell you about, but really- it all just sends me into a rage, and I don’t want to ruin your day. Let’s just say we’ll be taking her over-developed sense of entitlement to court. We are still getting settled into the new place and it is much smaller, but very modern and cool. Also less money, and no irritating landlord in sight. Oh- and we can leave the windows open with no screens for days and days at a time- and not one flying insect has ventured in.

Life is really good these days- with the warmer weather, I’ve been biking in to work more regularly, I’ve started the boxing training again, and even kayaking has re-emerged after a couple of weeks busy with the move and what-not. So I’m getting into slightly better shape, and feeling really good and healthy.

We’re planning a little dinner party/house-warming thing on Friday night- so this is good impetus to get the books back onto the bookshelves, do yet another cull of old/worn out clothing etc., and another grocery shop. My life these days is just lots of little things- nothing exciting enough to blog about really, but apparently those with lives even more uneventful want the update!
