Well, we've gone and done it good. I let my heartstrings be tugged at the thought of having a new puppy... the fact that Dallas is getting up there- she'll be 10 in just a couple of months, and *cringe* . . . after much very hypothetical research, the not-at-all hypothetical cash was handed over in promise of a beautiful new puppy addition to our home! Heard of a Weimaranar? It took me two weeks to even get used to pronouncing the breed name. They are another hunting dog, which means more porcupine incidents and deer chases, and apparently they are big cat-killers. Eeek. Must begin the we-love-cats, cats-are-our-friends project right away. No no, Puppy- they run because they want you to stop drooling.
We have until Friday to get our home puppy-proofed. All my main floor books are going to be boxed up... Not losing them at the rate Dallas used to go through 'em. The furniture will inevitably be chewed up, but there's next to nothing I can do about that. Hats, shoes, ottoman, exercise ball, BIKES, all of it has to be vacated or suffer the fate of being chewed past recognition and partly ingested. We are shopping for dog-names- so far we both like 'Disco' a lot, and it goes kinda well with Dallas... But we're open for suggestions!!
